A WORD ABOUT DR. LAM, YOUR FAMILY ACUPUNCTURIST Dr. Khanh M. Lam graduated with honors from the California State University, Long Beach with a B.S. in Psychology and Biology. Then, he attended South Baylo University, School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Later, he went on studying chiropractic at Cleveland Chiropractic College and became one of the few doctors obtaining both degrees in Doctor of Oriental Medicine-Acupuncture and Doctor of Chiropractic. Both are considered to be holistic and both deal with pain treatment. Dr. Lam has practiced for more than 15 years while serving as a professor at the Royal University, School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles. He is approved by the Acupuncture Board as continuing education instructor in several seminar classes for acupuncturists’ licensure renewal. One of his major topic is “Electro-acupuncture in clinical practice” involves using electrodes that are attached to the needles delivering a micro-electrical current to the patient for controlling pain. Dr. Lam was recognized as “Acupuncturist of the Year” in 1997 and 1998 by the Consumer Business Review and was also named in “Who’s Who in America” among professionals. He was also elected and is currently a Board Examiner of the State of California Acupuncture Board. Being qualified in both chiropractic and acupuncture, Dr. Lam is interested in pain treatment with emphasis on chronic and acute cases. He is Board Eligible in the Academy of Pain Management, a member in the California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery, certified in Biomechanical Analysis of Low impacts in auto injuries and one of the few doctors with certification in Accident Reconstruction. There are many letters of praise written to and about Dr. Lam during his years of practice due to his experience in both professions; acupuncture and chiropractic, Dr. lam has the ability to integrate the two aspects while treating the person and disease. Dr. Lam will discuss his findings with the patient and family members until the problems are understood and the treatments seem comfortable. He is honest and forthcoming about problems and concerns and is well known in specializing in the most difficult of problems.
